Did you know your brain takes 20 minutes to realise that your stomach is full?

The Guinness world record for most hamburgers eaten in three minutes is 12.
And that can cause some major indigestion and reflux, not mentioning weight gain.

The same goes for your Proper Snacks. Try chewing a number of times before swallowing. And smaller quantities at a time. You should be able to get three to four mouthfuls out of a 30 gram packet of nuts and dried fruit. Once you’re done wait 20 minutes and you may notice you won’t feel any hunger pains before your next meal.

Tips to slow down:

  1. Be aware of your eating rate. If you don’t know you’re eating too fast how will you know how to change it?

  2. Chew more.

  3. Put your utensils down between mouthfuls.

  4. Keep a conversation with your meal partner (remember not to speak with your mouth full).
